Agrisure RW Trait Technical Background The Agrisure RW trait has been available in leading genetics from Syngenta to provide customers of Garst®, Golden Harvest®, NK® and more than 100 other seed companies with high-performing hybrids. Syngenta uses an industry-leading advanced technology integration process to help maintain the full yield potential of the hybrid. A precise and reliable conversion is one of the competitive advantages of the Agrisure RW trait. The Agrisure RW trait has demonstrated excellent efficacy year after year in university and Syngenta field trials: From 2005 through 2007, hybrids with the Agrisure RW trait demonstrated a 28 bu/A yield advantage in heavy rootworm pressure situations and a 56 bu/A yield advantage in very heavy rootworm pressure situations when compared to a hybrid without the rootworm trait. It has also shown consistency superior to soil-applied insecticides. The Agrisure RW trait begins working as soon as rootworm larvae begin to feed on plant roots. As the larvae feed, they consume the unique Bt protein of the Agrisure RW trait, which acts to disrupt stomach digestion to eliminate the pest. The Agrisure RW trait provides consistent protection against Northern, Western and Mexican rootworms. It is currently available in stacks with the Agrisure GT (glyphosate-tolerant corn) trait and the Agrisure CB/LL (protection against corn borers with LIBERTY® herbicide tolerance) trait.
